Meet Bekir Ata YILMAZ

TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industry) - Vice President Strategy and Corporate Governance

Bekir Ata Yılmaz was born in 1949. He settled in and completed his primary, secondary and high-school degrees in Tokat. After his graduation from Air Force Academy in 1968, Yılmaz has served as Air Defense Officer in combined Air Forces.
Thereafter, having education on “Operational Research” and “Computer” at Middle East Technical University, he worked as System Analyst and Computer Programmer at Information Processing Center of Air Forces. Continuing his academic studies, he had training on “NATO Defense Systems Development and Supply Systems” in Munich, Germany.  

Being a graduate as Staff Officer from Air War College in 1981, Yılmaz has served as Training Planing Officer at Turkish Air Forces Headquarters. Between 1984-1986, he worked as “Exchange Officer” within USA Air Forces in San Antonio, Texas. He was promoted to Brigadier General of Air Forces and worked as the Head of Air Forces Project Management Department until August 2003.

After his retirement, Bekir Ata Yılmaz has been working as the Head of Department at Common Services at TAI since December 15, 2003. Bekir Ata Yılmaz has released two books named “System Development and Occupational Analysis Techniques in Education” and “Space and Military Aspect”.
